Global First! China's National Standard for Commercial Intelligent Cooking Machines Released

In November 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standardization Administration) issued an announcement that GB/T 46718-2025 "Commercial Intelligent Cooking Machines" would take effect immediately. This standard, which was supervised by the China National Light Industry Council, under the jurisdiction of the National Household Appliance Standardization Technical Committee, and led by the Commercial Electrical Food Processing Service Equipment Branch, is the world's first "technical constitution" for commercial intelligent cooking equipment, which enshrines "how to cook, how fast to cook, and how fragrant to cook" into a national standard in one go.

Behind the standard, Foshan Semikron Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., as one of the drafting units, joined forces with 22 authoritative institutions, including the China Hotel Association, the China Cuisine Association, and the National Food Service Machinery Quality Inspection and Testing Center, to complete 12 rounds of verification over 28 months. For the first time, 12 core indicators, such as "stir-frying uniformity," "dish consistency," "oil fume removal rate," and "Internet of Things protocol," were quantified, making R&D, production, procurement, and supervision "measurable and standardized."

Industry experts unanimously agree that the implementation of the standard is equivalent to "licensing" commercial cooking robots that have been on the rise for ten years: - Eliminating shoddy products and retaining professional ones; - Reducing trial and error costs and opening up the trillion-dollar market for group meals, pre-prepared dishes, and chain restaurants; - Providing a demonstration case for the upgrading of China's intelligent manufacturing during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and also exporting "digital recipes" for Chinese cuisine to go global.

Semikron Chairman Luo Yuji summed it up in one sentence: "This is not a constraint, but a starting gun. Semikron will open up more than 100,000 kitchen scene data and work with ecosystem partners to turn chefs' experience into algorithms and write the cooking temperature into chips, so that a pot of wok-fried Chinese food with a strong wok hei can be reproduced in 3 minutes from any corner of the world."
